DEATH BY POWERPOINT

We've all been there - in a stuffy conference room with the drone of a projector whirring. Somebody in a cool suit is in front advancing through an 85-slide PowerPoint presentation.

To make matters worse, he or she is actually READING every last word on every slide. You reach for your Crackberry and start a new game of brickbreaker.

Oh, the humanity!!!!

Utterly useless trivia

TOTALLY USELESS TRIVIA:

DID YOU KNOW? (Of Course Not ... Nobody does!)

- A cockroach can live nine days without its head before it starves to death.

- A polar bear's skin is black. Its fur is not white, but actually clear.

- Elvis had a twin brother named Garon, who died at birth, which is why Elvis' middle name was spelled Aron; in honor of his brother.

- Donald Duck comics were banned in Finland because he doesn't wear pants.

- More people are killed by donkeys annually than are killed in plane crashes.

ADDICTIVE GAME

Possibly the best game ever! Probably not overly politically correct, however.

BlahBlahBloggo Gets Political

BEFORE THEY WERE STARS:

Little known fact that Barack Obama and Sarah Palin hung out together in high school. Barack went to Terrorist Camp in Wasilla, Alaska - Palin's hometown.

As the story goes, Barack left the next summer to go play basketball for the Al-Qaeda Crimson Tide. The Tide featured stud players like Barack, who averaged 32.3 ppg. That team was led by Chemical Ali at power forward and went on to beat Bin Laden and the Pakistan Border Collies to win the Iraqi prep title in 1978.

Palin went on to become president of the Wasilla High AV Club, which launched her into a career in broadcasting. She became really adept at shaving beavers and she also sports one, we're told by the Wasilla Lacrosse team.

OK GO ... HERE WE GO AGAIN

OK GO ... BIZARRE TREADMILL VIDEO ... a CLASSIC!
With nothing but eight treadmills, a boombox, insulation, good balance, and a dream, Ok Go created one of the most sensational music videos on the Internet. Their video for their song "Here It Goes Again" is a camcorder fixed on the members of the band performing various moves and stunts on a set of treadmills. The dance was choreographed by a sister of one of the band members, and was preceded by the band's first runaway music video hit, "A Million Ways." It won a YouTube award in 2006 for "Most Creative Video."

THE WEIRD TALE OF PEG ENTWISTLE

The famous Hollywood sign was built in 1923 for a real estate development in Beachwood Canyon. The sign originally read "Hollywoodland" and cost $21,000 to build. The letters, 30 feet wide and 45 feet tall were originally lighted by 4000 light bulbs. However, maintenance was discontinued in 1939 and in 1949 the "Land" portion of the sign was removed. Over the years, the sign became terribly rundown. Finally, in 1978 the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce restored it with the help of private donations.*

Peg Meets the Sign - On September 18, 1932, after a night of drinking and feeling depressed, Peg would tell her Uncle Harold that she was going to walk up Beachwood to meet some friends at the local drug store. Instead, she would scratch and claw her way up the slope to the Hollywood sign where she took off her coat and folded it neatly. She placed it, along with her purse, at the base of the maintenance ladder which led up the letter "H". She would then climb up the workman's ladder on the back of the 50 foot "H" and perform a perfect Swan dive into the ground. Peg was more than likely killed instantly. She was only 24 years old.

PEG ENTWISTLE'S BIZARRE DEMISE

THE SAD DEMISE OF DANA PLATO

The sad demise of Dana Plato (Diffr'ent Strokes star)

We all like a good car wreck. Any city in America, drivetime features include bumper smashups, jacknifed trailers, flippers, road rash and the morbid. We all stop to look. Admit it.

So when the former child star Dana Plato died a while ago, no body shed a tear. But we all wanted to know how.

Morbidly Hollywood gives us the scoop:
